RNF MotoGP team boss opens up on team’s collapse
During the Valencia Grand Prix, there were reports that the newly formed RNF team was facing financial trouble and a potential takeover by Trackhouse Racing. However, the team and its partner, CryptoDATA, denied these rumors in a press release and press conference, stating that Razlan Razali’s departure from the team management had actually been decided a month earlier due to poor performance and financial decisions. On Monday, Dorna Sports announced that RNF would not continue as an official MotoGP team in 2024, citing repeated infractions and breaches of the Participation Agreement. Razali, on the other hand, expressed his disagreement with the official statements, claiming that all the information provided by the team and CryptoDATA so far had been false. He indicated that the issue stemmed from a misalignment between the team’s sports-oriented vision and the more business-oriented approach of CryptoDATA. Razali stated that he voluntarily resigned as the director of RNF Racing a few weeks ago and officially stepped down as team principal just the day before.
